Welcome to the wonderful, creative world of Autumn Steam!
This year is going to be all about building connections, becoming inspired and taking risks. I am not going to sit on the sidelines of my own life and wish I had done something different. With my new found motivation I hope to get everyone as excited about art as I am. Of course I want to be recognized and make a living at this, but even more than that I just want to create art and bring a little joy to people's lives. I started an ongoing project in 2012 called I Want To Mail You Art. The response has been amazing and really helped me grow as an artist. The highlight of my day is getting mail from all over the world. I recently published a book showing the first 40 letters and pieces of art I mailed out. I Want To Mail You Art: The Rainbow Book is the first in hopefully a long, colorful series. Another project I am working on this year is the Artist's Shuffle. I have asked 100 artists to collaborate and then swap art. I will publish a book of all the art and experience of this project when it is complete. My international installation The Unfortunate Zookwash was a huge success and will be available for purchase in March 2013. This incredible art book features artists from around the world using their inspired creativity to add an ending to my original story. I Want To Mail You Art: The Rainbow Book
I Want To Mail You Art is an art project I started by submitting an image on Facebook asking people to mail me something. My friends and fans forwarded the image and I have received mail from all over the world. In return I have sent back original art that has included paintings, jewelry and journals.
The Rainbow Book is the first book displaying the letters, art, cards and stickers I have received in the mail as well as the art I sent out. By purchasing this book you will help me keep this project going and bring a little joy to those I send art to. $ 18.00 |
