I know everyone is wondering how the project is going. I have all the submissions and will start my part of the project ASAP. My life has took an interesting turn but I still hope to finish the project by the end of the year.
I will keep you updated as I work but it will be slow progress.
I got my first piece of art today from Jaide Hubbard. She participated in the last Shuffle, and I am excited to have her participating again. I know as all of the art comes in, it will inspire something new and amazing in me.
Remember the deadline is April 1st! Get to work on those self portraits!
This is it! The moment we have all been waiting for!
Let's do another Artist's Shuffle!
This time there is a theme: My Dichotomy - and will be a self portrait of the artist that I will then collaborate my own self portrait on the same canvas.
For example, these pieces by Vincent Gabriel, Mike Morley, Danilo Vadis, or Jeanna Szuch, from the last Artist's Shuffle is a good example of what could happen...
I want you as the artist to create whatever you think your own self portrait should look like, in whatever medium. If you are best represented by the color blue or an actual photograph, then submit it. Any medium and style are acceptable as long as it fits into the specified 5x7 inch (12.5x17.5 cm) dimensions.
All submissions are due by April 1, 2015.
Please direct all emails and inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I can't wait to collaborate with you all!
I have been working very hard behind the scenes to get the Shuffle shown in a few more places before I mail all of the art out to the artists. But things just are not working out. So I am officially calling an end to the Artist's Shuffle and it's tour. This is a bittersweet moment for me. I am actually tearing up at the moment. What a journey.
I am still so in awe of the amazing work all of the artists put out there. This project inspired artists and patrons from around the world. I got to make new connections and I dare say created new friendships! I hope all of the artists in the Shuffle will reach out to each other. All the contact info is in the back of the book. If someone's work inspires you then I encourage you to take time and contact them. We all love to hear an encouraging word!
I am going to be randomly picking canvases to mail back to the participating artists. Just to make sure we are all on the same page, you will not receive your own artwork back. Instead you are going to receive a random piece from the collection. I will be using a number in the hat system for this.
Just one last thing, I am broke as usual so I will be mailing canvases as I can afford it. Those of you that bought books will get your art first.
Thanks again to everyone who participated, encouraged the project and was gracious enough to let me show it.
Artists: I will be emailing you before I mail your piece to verify your addresses!
