Spring Maple Dish

This little dish was formed in a white stoneware clay using a big leaf maple as the template. After the leaf fossilized, I added a foot to the dish and fired in the vein impressions. I chose a brown and blue palette and accented it with gold. If you move the plate in just the right light, the gold veins pop off the dish.



Dishwasher safe but NOT microwavable because of the gold.
