This is a large ceramic button I sculpted out of a low fire red clay. I used a technique where I layered glazes and scratched out the top layer to reveal the colors beneath. I loved experimenting with this as it gives me the fine line work that I am looking for. It feels smooth to the touch because of the glossy overglaze. Use to decorate a pillow, shawl, scarf, hat or anything else you might need a button for.
