"Steampunk Bee" Found Object Mixed Media Sculpture, 4.5x2 inches, 2014.

Yesterday and today I worked on a new Steampunk inspired sculpture. I decided to make a bee. So I strung together some beads from old pieces of jewelry, attached feet, wings, eyes and other bee elements and mounted it on a golden rose. The bee and the rose then were mounted in a broken vacuum tube and mounted in a hand turned hardwood base. The result is this enchanting little bee resting on a flower. So much love went into this little sculpture.

This afternoon I attended the opening for the All You Need Is Love show at Spiral Muse Gallery. This show will be hanging for the month of February. Go see it!

Wild Women Show: Luck Be A Lady

Later on this evening my friends and I went to the reception for the Wild Woman Show. What a turn out! The gallery was packed with very little room to move around. Now that's what I like to see! My piece was hanging behind the cashier so it was difficult to see the detail. For those of you that wanted to see a better close up I added a photo below. This piece will be hanging until March 2nd.
